The EU, formerly named the EC, is a reality for over 60 years. Nothing but praise for the founders, the genii Monnet and Schuman, French policians who were able to bridge the divide between France and Germany, and it’s a mystery that they weren’t awarded the Nobel Prize for peace throughout their lives.
Nowadays the EU affects our lives on all fields. Whether you like it or not.
Not all people are advocate of the EU, or radically opposed. But the (silent?) majority of the European citizens supports it. And yet, and this at least explains partly the aversion of some, the EU remains unknown. Moreover procedures are seen as untransparent, and the content as technical and complicated.
But, there is more that connects us, than divides.
My passion is to help to bridge this gap by making the EU more accessible by language and imagery.
My background is an author of a year book on European subsidies during the nineties, together with a Flemish co-author.
I write now and then articles on Europe and regions in het Eindhovens Dagblad.

Was active in (international) committees of the CDA and the (former) European movement. Now I am a member of VOLT.
In the first place I feel myself a European citizen.
I wish you reading pleasure !
